Some Common Sense Tips for Buying a Diamond

Whether it’s at Fey & Co., or elsewhere, remember this advice:

1 Make sure you see and compare multiple loose diamonds right next to each other so you can see the differences yourself.
2 Make sure that you have a diamond expert you trust help you through the process. Also make sure you are provided the tools and environment to really see the diamond you are buying.
3 Only buy diamonds certified by an industry recognized, independent grading lab. Remember, the certificate won’t tell you how beautiful the diamond is but it will assure that you are getting an honest grade on the diamond.
4 Stay within your budget. Don’t be pushed into something that you can’t afford. A beautiful diamond can be had at your budget.
5 Do your research so that you recognize a good deal when you see it…or one that’s not so good!
6 Ask about guarantees, warranties, trade-in policies, etc. You might find these to be very important.
7 Have Fun! The more you learn, the more you’ll see that buying diamonds isn’t hard. Beauty and quality are pretty easy to judge.
