Grandfather to Tom and Ed Fey, Ed, Sr. is a Classic American success story: a hard-working craftsman with a passion for his work that he parleyed into a successful jewelry business. And Ed was every bit the Chicago success story. He worked as a watchmaker at Marshall Fields on State Street back in the day when Field’s State Street was the epitome of luxury in Chicago. Ed, Sr. went on to open Fey & Co. in LaGrange in 1945. |

Ed, Jr., Tom and Ed's father, brought a technical expertise to the diamond business that is shared today by his two sons. Their mother, Teresa, brought her passion for connecting with clients and an unmatched eye for beautiful jewelry. Her energy, enthusiasm and impeccable taste drove the business forward. Both of them stamped their values on Fey & Co.: to be fair and honest and respectful, and to treat everyone like they are part of the family. Ed and Teresa were great business partners and even better partners in life, as they are quickly approaching their Diamond Jubilee Anniversary (yep, that's 60)! |

Ed is married to Patti. He still tries to keep up with his 3 sons on the ski slopes and diligently hacks his way through the neighborhood basketball league. Tom is married to Carlotta. They love their long bike rides with their 3 kids through the forest preserves and along the lakefront. Both Tom and Ed love their job. Some cool memories as diamond insiders include Ed holding and inspecting the Hope Diamond in the Smithsonian. And Tom holding the world’s largest piece of diamond rough (over 1400 carats!) in the inner vaults of DeBeers in London. But what they really get a kick out of is having designed their own exclusive-cut diamond only available at Fey & Co. -one that brings the ultimate in diamond beauty to everyone … not just the very few privileged industry insiders. |
